Jai Al-Attas: Writer/Director
Jai Al-Attas is a 25 year old from Sydney, Australia. Jai started his own record label with some friends, Below Par Records in the year 2000 while 16 and still at High School which was sold to EMI in 2009. Jai has worked with artists such as Brand New, Kisschasy, Yellowcard, Something With Numbers and many more. Jai made his first film “Kisschasy: The Movie” in 2006, it debuted at #18 on the ARIA DVD Charts, was nominated for an ARIA Award in 2007 for Best Music DVD and made the Top Music DVD’s for 2006 in Rolling Stone. One Nine Nine Four is the first feature length documentary that Jai has written and directed.
Matt Wardle: Producer
Matt Wardle is a 23 year old from Perth, Western Australia. With a degree in Finance, he too has run a record label in Australia from 2004 – 2007, but now with the creation of Robot Academy Films has started to focus all attention towards future films and progressing the success of the company in the near future. One Nine Nine Four is also Matt’s first feature film.
Bill Silva: Executive Producer
Over the past 27 years Bill Silva established himself as one of the top impresarios in North America, working with developing young artists in small clubs to the biggest names in the entertainment industry in major stadiums. Bill has worked with The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Madonna, Garth Brooks, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Green Day, Whitney Houston, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan among the greats and at times the “unheard of’s”. Bill has produced over 10,000 Events and is a founding member of the North American Concert Promoters Association, and in 2001 he was honored with the Pollstar Bill Graham Concert Promoter of the Year Award. On top of this, Bill also has an artist management company and for more than 15 years has exclusively booked the Hollywood Bowl.
Tony Hawk: Narrator
Tony Hawk, is a professional skateboarder originally from and born in Carlsbad, California. He is considered the most successful and influential person of modern vertical skateboarding. He is credited with the invention of many aerial skateboard tricks including the Stalefish, Madonna, and McHawk, and over 80 others, but is most famous for being the first to land the 900 (two and a half rotations—900°—in the air before landing back on the pipe) during the televised June 27, 1999 X Games, for which he received an enormous amount of attention. It marked the next level of his rise to fame, solidifying his status as a household name. He retired from competitive skateboarding afterwards, but continues to skate and perform at demos.
